Virtual Pears

I've seen some of these paintings around and about lately, and tonight finally found the link to the October 2008 Virtual Sketch Date blog. Yikes! It's due TODAY! What a great photo (from Belinda Lindhardt). I did it so fast that I probably didn't do it justice, but it was fun.

Fast and free, I like it, and you've hit the intensity of colour needed, first time, it seems. I have the drying-too-pale problem, ...it's good to be able look and hopefully learn from others.

I have seen these pears around also and never got around to doing them. The addition of the dark blue is perfect.

Pears are lovely, but I especially like the way you handled the background - I wish I could be loose like that!

Linda, those pears are truly yummy. The fast rendering really works to keep everything looking fresh and bright.

You have a lot of energy in this painting, and the pears are really nice - on the close-up, the texture is wonderful.

On the contrary, your fast version is wonderful and has great energy. I love the choice of the bold blue!
