Peony

I made a few random marks here and there this week - in drips and dabs, as they say. I finally just took a deep breath and finished it off this evening.

So, what do YOU call this flower ...
a Pee-OH-nee?
a PEE-ah-nee?
a Pehhnee?
Or do you call it what some of the older folks around here call it -- a "Piney Rose"?

I call it "gorgeous!" :-D Oh, and a PEE-ah-nee. But I don't know if that's right...

Now wouldn't that look just lovely painted in my new giant Moleskine! Oh Linda, you put me to shame. That peony seems to have traveled via your heart to your brain and finished off on the tip of your brush. Outstanding!

I think I say Pehhnee??? Who knows?

You finished it off beautifully.

steviewren -- I just KNEW you would pronounce it Pehhnee ... the further south (in the USA) one goes, the closer it gets to only two syllables!
:-D

We say PEE-ah-nee.

True funny story. Last year or the year before my wife was complaining that our neighbor's peony plants had bloomed and ours hadn't yet.

"You know what your problem is?" I informed her, jokingly, "You have peonies envy!"
