Percy the Pug

Posted by Picasa Percy the Pug -- the "grandpuppy" -- who I fell in love with this past week. We had the best time playing fetch with an old beat up, chewed up, and well loved purple monkey.
Posted by PicasaWhen he finally gets tired, like most other babies, he fights sleep. In a desperate attempt to stay awake he will run madly around the apartment in a figure-8 pattern -- what they call the "roast beef run" (it's a long story ...) Finally, when he can go no further, he collapses. What a cutie!

(Note: Yes. He really DOES look like Yoda.)

(The technical bit: 0.1 Staedtler pigment liner in Moleskine sketch book; color added with Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencil)

OH! Your drawings of Percy are precious. I used to have a pug named Buster (nickname MonkeyBoy). You did a fantastic job capturing Percy.

Oh he's adorable and your drawings are fantastic too. I'm so glad you told us what the purple drawing was though...I thought it might be a monkey, but wasn't sure at first. :o) Our dog just loves his scruffy toys too - several chewed up toy dogs and a few elephants. When the monkey is long gone, you'll enjoy looking back at these and remembering how funny Percy was as a pup with his toys.

Sweet Percy, all your drawings are FANTASTIC but the character you've managed with 'the pug and his passion'is SO standout! Loved my trip to your blog today (as always) thanks. Sue

Percy? A pug named Percy? Percy the pug with a purple pet monkey? Ok, enough. He is adorable and that monkey looks like someone got the best of him.

Linda! I just saw you over on Moleskinerie! Congrtulations!

I'm loving the drawings.

I also wanted to tell you that I picked up a copy of Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.

Your steady and consistent work has inspired me to try my own hand at drawing again.
