And since we were talking about leaves ....
This is the drawing that I started last night and finished tonight. It was supposed to be a quick one, but I ended up puzzling over the shadows, and how they changed from one side of the necklace to the other. I kept having to get up and double check that I was looking at it correctly! This necklace was made by my friend Marcia, who does just beautiful work and keeps me in jewelry.
Now, I really DO have to figure out my Halloween costume for tomorrow...
I probably also need to go downstairs and see how much of the candy has been eaten already. I KNEW I should have waited until tomorrow to get it!
You may notice that I'm in the process of making some changes in the blog's appearance. I don't know what I think about the teacup -- maybe something more seasonal will be coming up this week, but I'm wondering about column width. Please be sure to let me know if I make some changes that make it difficult for you to read things! And let me know if you have any suggestions, too. :-)

Linda - I love that leaf necklace! It's gorgeous!! I really like the red beads in between to set off the leaves. Your friend has a good eye for combining colours.
And YOU surprise me by using coloured pencils as your medium! I don't recall seeing anything drawn in coloured pencil from you before. How do you like using them?
Just loverly, my dear. Is this now part of you collection of beautiful Marcia-jewelry? Great drawing - I'm glad you finished it!!
WOW
i thought it was a photograph of the necklace!!
By the way, i love the tea cup!
And, i'm gonna try to do a post a day for November...if only my brain will remember
(OY...and no more silly poetry!)xd
Bonny -- I do like playing with colored pencil every now and then. It used to be my medium of choice, but it seemed very tedious to get good darks. Now I'm thinking about mixed media ...
Diahn -- you can borrow it sometime! It's a great piece.
Zephyr -- keep up with the poetry! :-D
The necklace is a beauty and so is that teacup. I like the new look. No trick or treaters here. It was stormy all night so people just stayed home. Lucky (or unlucky) me, all that chocolate mustn't go to waste.
The necklace looks loverly! I like your new teacup header too.
