Started as a "sketch" in watercolor class while I waited for paper to soak, but I've become rather fond of this. Mostly I'm fond of the idea of going to this gorgeous place -- Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. Anybody been there?
(There's still work to do on the water ... and it photographed terribly!)

Hi Linda, This painting is fantastic!!! It reminds me of my visit there last month. If you care to look, there is an entry on my Blog here: http://bonnyracca.typepad.com/bonnys_pages/2006/10/my_halifax_happ.html
And there is a photo album on the right called Halifax, 2006. I have a photo of the lighthouse, closer to.
This is lovely!
wouldn't mind going there either, looks great!
I agree with Cin---lovely place and you've done a great job of showing us how lovely!
Bonny, I didn't realize that it was the same place you had been! Girl, I want to get in your suitcase and just ride! :-D
I think it's beautiful, and if I could "sketch" like that while waiting for paper to soak, I'd die happy!! :-D
This is beautiful! It reminds me of the time my sister and I went to...oh, never mind, we never go anywhere. :)
Love the mood!! Fantastic scene and an excellent job -- I fail to see what you need to do to change it - the water looks great to me!!
Gorgeous and beautiful. The colors, the scene...love it. That part of the country is so beautiful and you have captured that beauty.
Beautiful watercolor and I wouldn't touch it to much. Looks great just as it is. Never been there but have been to the coast of Maine and it does remind me of there.
This is just lovely! Great job.
I haven't been to Peggy's Cove but I have been through Nova Scotia, New Brusnwick and to Newfoundland. The East Coast of Canada is definitely designed for artists. :)
What a beautiful painting. It looks just like what my mental picture is of Nova Scotia. I've never been there but my dad lived there for awhile. I envy the wonderful way you painted the water.
please, may i run away to this wonderland...now? i do love the sea and this captures so much of the feeling...wonderful.
This is lovely. Makes me really want to go. Thanks for your kind comment on my blog.
This is such a lovely painting. My parents went there years ago and talked about seeing the tide go out for miles. I'm sending my mother a link so she can enjoy it, too.
Photographed horribly?
I don't think so!
I love the wet look the paints have on this watery piece.
