Moleskine

Dear Daughter,

I am sorry to report that I continue to spend your meager inheritence on art supplies. One day I'm sure I will have enough of them, and will be able to stop.

Love,
Mom

I stopped by the art supply store today and picked up a long coveted set of Dr. Ph Martin's liquid watercolors. The colors are truly INTENSE, but I'm delighted to say that they work well on the Moleskine sketchbook paper!
(They also worked great with a dip pen ... oh, the possibilities...)

I love the colors. Good to know about the moleskin, too. Where do you get these watercolors? I'm pretty new to all of this.

Thank you Lin -- I'm glad to know I'm not the only one whose child needs to keep her job! :-D
Sioux - you can find these liquid watercolors in most art supply stores. They're not like typical watercolors, though. Here's a link:

Joey - Thanks so much! They're pansies, but when I look at my scribbles underneath the drawing, I can see where it looks like I wrote "delphinium" (what I really wrote in Dr Ph Martin's -- time to go back to handwriting class!) And I looked at the Kuboku comics -- will get back to you on that one!

Oh no, you won't! Have enough of them, that is. Your daughter (and mine) will be OK ;D. Love the deep, rich colors here--I just rediscovered both dip pens AND some Luma Watercolors (very, very intense!) so have been playing around just like you, but farther east on I-40.

Linda, this is so wonderful...love the vibrant colors! thanks for your comment on my curly ended doorknob...your pansies are making me want the dr martin's colors and I never had a CLUE I wanted them before! I'll have to sit still until the urge passes...it's not as though I don't have *other* watercolors to use... Rachel

Hey, she's going to inherit the sketchbooks right? What more could she want. I love it when people paint their palettes. It makes the painting itself so more real.
